Soft anti-semites

 Whenever a user expresses their concerns on Facebook regarding the rise of anti-Semitism in Europe, attributing it to the exportation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, they are not long in receiving comments referencing the "genocide" that some claim Israel is perpetrating in Gaza. The interventions from anti-Semitic trolls are easily identifiable and fail to pique my interest. Instead, I prefer to focus on the remarks made by individuals who, without any provocative or playful intent, simply wish to share their emotions about what they consistently label as the "genocide" inflicted upon the Palestinians of Gaza by Israelis. Generally, these individuals espouse leftist views, positioning themselves on the side of righteousness, and initially display an ostensible openness, respect for their opponents, and a veneer of politeness. However, this moderation often serves merely as a smokescreen. A slight provocation is all it takes for them to brand you a Zionist, a revealing indicator of their true stance. Such a reaction betrays an unwillingness to acknowledge anti-Semitism, which they strive to conceal, as well as a deep-seated animosity towards Jews that festers within them.
